Chronicling the surrealism of self-discovery, Liim’s sophomore album, A Sunflower Garden In Harlem Is Hard To Find, explores his coming-of-age journey growing up in Harlem’s Grant Houses on 125th Street to now. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios, the album explores emotionally complex vignettes of near-death experiences, finding solace in hard-earned life lessons, and Liim’s ongoing mission of defying the narrow expectations and reference points imposed on him as a kid from Harlem. As he puts it, “a sunflower garden in Harlem is hard to find, but it’s also like something you have to go out and find for yourself. It’s about finding who you are, and not being limited to anything that anyone expects you to have experienced or be influenced by.”
